THE SENIOR FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT WILL WORK WITH BOTH THE OPERATIONS AND COMMERCIAL FINANCE TEAMS TO MAINTAIN THE INTEGRITY AND REPORTING OF THE PROFIT & LOSS ACCOUNT AND BALANCE SHEET, HELP IMPROVE CONTROLS AND PROCESSES AND PREPARE ANALYSIS TO DRIVE BUSINESS DECISIONS THAT WILL ADD TO SHAREHOLDER VALUE.

THE ROLE REQUIRES STRONG FINANCIAL REPORTING ABILITY BUT IT ALSO HAS A COMMERCIAL FOCUS.THE ROLE WILL WORK CLOSELY WITH THE FC AND VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS TO GAIN A CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF HOW THE BUSINESS WORKS AND PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO THE BUSINESS WHERE REQUIRED

YOU WILL:

Preparation of quality and timely financial reporting e.g. month-end pack, BS reconciliations and analysing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually financial activity.
Preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing consultation to all departments on potential corrective actions in order to achieve financial objectives.
Be a champion of change for operating processes in order to optimise finance as a business enabler capable of ultimately driving the business agenda.
Supporting the drive to refine operational process and control, identifying problems, structuring and prioritising business issues and finding the appropriate practical solutions.
To develop positive and professional working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job-holder is required to perform other duties assigned by the Line Manager from time to time.
The job-holder is obliged to comply with Health and Safety procedures as outlined by the Dixons Carphone Health and Safety Policy.

You will need:

CASHFLOW

Providing detailed weekly cash flow analysis to the FC, highlighting variances between actual, budget and forecast figures with suggested solutions to correct negative variances.
Working closely with various teams to determine stock (and cost) outflows and inflows and ensuring that any “pinch points” are clearly identified and addressed.
Apply controls to the cash flow and working capital to identifying risks and/or areas of efficiency
BUDGETING AND FORECASTING

Key involvement in the preparation of the annual budget, working within UK&I guidelines and partnering with budget owners.
Gain a detailed understanding of budget requests and assumptions and making challenges, where appropriate, to maximise performance.
Use of the monthly pack and forecasts to ensure early capture of any divergence from Budget or forecast, and presenting a details to the FC & HoF.
