Project Manager – Publishing Unit

Opportunity & Overview
Our client, one of the biggest asset managers in the world is growing rapidly and as part of their expansion they are setting up an in-house publishing team and require a Project Manager. The in house publishing team is responsible for managing all internal and external publishing of fact sheets, regulatory documents and investment information for a broad range of stakeholders.
You’re Responsibilities
Staff management including recruitment, training and development, staff appraisals and goal setting.
Day to day administration, project management with clients, and some production of the Business service portfolio.
Attention to detail and structured organisation is of the utmost importance.
Establish and maintain strong relationships, especially with AM and Managerial levels.
Suggest or input into, initiate and implement projects related to department at a strategic and technical level.
Proactively identify and implement efficiency improvements.
Development, implementation and documentation of new procedures, plus continuous review of existing including SLA.
Participate in budget planning and management reporting.
To proof read and peer review products before circulation.
Provide mentor & coaching support to colleagues and more junior team members.
Identify and resolve issues, escalating where appropriate.
Identify and manage risks, escalating where appropriate.
Ensure all production checklists done and filed on a daily basis.
Review of external vendor costs before approval by Senior Manager.
Keeping up to date with trends and developments within financial reporting, IT and graphic industries.

Your skills and experience
Team management and leadership.
Technical and Graphic background, preferably from studio or production management environment.
Ability of working within a pressured environment where accuracy and timeliness are critical.
Excellent communication skills, with an ability to communicate with senior management and other key stakeholders.
Project Management and Change Management experience.
Knowledge and experience of working in the financial services sector would be a distinct advantage.
A credible personal presence with the ability to instil confidence and trust on all levels.
Expresses ideas clearly, and is easily understood.
Able to build strong relationships with peers and business counterparts.
Commitment to high standards of excellence and integrity.
A self-starter and decision taker; open, confident and persuasive, with excellent presentation and strong listening abilities.
Resilient, energetic and enthusiastic with great attention to detail.
Some compliance and graphic production understanding of fund financial reports & accounts.

Essential skills
Proven people management skills, preferably with added Competency.
Solid Adobe InDesign experience, including XML CSS and XSLT, preferably from a Mac production environment.
Design and Typography. Visualise Idea, Grid Mock-up and Final Template.
Proven Planning, Project Management and Change Management skills.
Use or firm understanding of Agile Scrum.
Good facilitation skills; the ability to bring people together to work through an issue.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, up to 25% of role is PM, Change / Client facing.
Problem solving and decision making skills; the ability to understand issues, structure problems, come up with ideas and deliver workable solutions.
Positive attitude, flexible and adaptable to constant change.
Experience of working in an International organisation.
Demonstrable ability to investigate new technologies.
Financial services and graphic industry knowledge.

Desirable skills
An understanding of Fidelity’s products and services.
Exposure to SQL and MS Access.
Exposure to web technologies.
Interest in foreign languages.
An understanding of investment strategies, instruments, markets and fund structures.
